Mr. and Mrs. B were experiencing a terrible odor that caused them to not enjoy drinking their water, but they also didn't have a water softener in place, so calcium build up was prevalent with 17gpg of hardness. After meeting with our project coordinator and further assessing the situation, we found that the EVR-1044U in combination with the EVS-1354 would be the perfect remedy for Mr. and Mrs. B's concerns. They no longer have to handle clorox/bleach regularly, the rotten egg-like odor was removed and soft water is now running through all lines to protect the home.

Mr. and Mrs. E. have lived in their home for about 5 years and always had an odor in the water. Not only that, but orange staining was becoming worse as time progressed. They knew something needed to be done and because our sister company, Clean Water testing, had done their initial well inspection, they gave us a call to see what kind of solutions were available. After finding that they had hard water, enough iron to stain and sulfur gas present, we knew we had to improve their situation. While filters were an option, they wanted a "simple" solution. That's where our EV2 water conditioner came into play. The EV2 is capable of handling higher levels of iron, trace amounts of sulfur and softening the water under one umbrella. They no longer have to worry about any work done in the house, because the new appliances and fixtures to come will be protected.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, about 66% of Wisconsin residents get their drinking water from groundwater, and the other 33% source it from Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, or Lake Winnebago. Owners of private wells are responsible for monitoring their private wells to ensure they are safe to drink from. Nitrates and arsenic, for example, are common, naturally occurring contaminants in Wisconsin soil and are often found in private well water.
Proper water filtration is essential in maintaining a safe source of drinking water. Even water that is not for consumption (animal or human) should be free of harmful contaminants that can affect our lives in other ways. Water for showering, washing your clothes, nourishing your pets, and even watering your plants should be of a healthy quality. Water can be considered “dirty” due to chemical pollutants and the presence of disease-causing microbes.
There are a number of short-term and long-term risks associated with drinking contaminated water. Exposure to chemicals in water can result in skin discoloration or, eventually, damage to the nervous system or organs. Ingesting water with disease-causing microbes is relatively rare in the United States nowadays because of advanced water filtration practices, but that used to be a common spreader of infectious diseases including typhoid fever and cholera. There are parts of the world where these diseases still run rampant because of inadequate or tainted drinking water supplies.

Ms. H. was very fortunate and purchased her first home. Not only were there learning curves as a new homeowner, but she now had to learn the ins and outs of the well and septic system. When she moved into the new home she found a twin water softener already in place, which is two softener media tanks working together to provide softened water 100% of the time. Having never had the luxury of a water softener in the past for home protection and skin health, she was not familiar with the silky feel of softened water and decided to put the water softener into by pass. Softened water feels smooth and silky because the calcium and magnesium deposits are removed from the water, and with hard water, it creates a soap scum that layers onto our skin. This dries out our skin and prevents our natural oils from moisturizing ourselves. Due to her decision of by passing her water softener, she came to learn that there were high levels of iron in the water that would cause staining and that the hardness of the water was extremely high, so the orange staining, white crusty build up and corrosion had begun being very evident. With no treatment in place for the water running through all the lines, appliances and fixtures began to become stained and beat up. Iron bacteria began to breed and grew into a slimy substance that filled her toilet tanks and caused an odor similar to sulfur because of the lack of treatment as well. Iron bacteria is a bacteria that feeds off of iron in the water as a food source and is NON-harmful. Although iron bacteria is non-harmful, it is still a nuisance because it causes odors and build up. These are the reasons she decided to give us a call and see what could be done about her water.
One of our Project Coordinators went to see all of her concerns first hand and also speak with her to see what could be done to help her with her water issues. First, it was highly recommended to put the water softener back into service to soften the water and remove the corrosion causing minerals running rampant in the house. She had some hesitancy to this due to the fact of not wanting the slippery feel to her water. We were able to present her with a mixing valve that would introduce just a little hardness into the water to reduce the slippery feeling. Next was to address the iron and iron bacteria. Some water softeners are able to handle lower levels of iron, but her levels of iron were at the point of possibly shortening the life of the softener. We introduced an iron filter that was teamed with our Odor Defender, which is meant to remove the iron from the water and to treat continuously for any odor causing bacteria in the water. Ms. H.’s biggest concern was having safe drinking water at the end of the day, and this was the final step. After getting her home up to par with working grade water that is supplied to all indoor lines, we supplied her with food grade water that is made via our Ultroflow Reverse Osmosis system. Our RO system provides an 80%-98% reduction of absolutely EVERYTHING dissolved in the water, so now she has water in her home that is just as good, if not better, than bottled water. With all water treatment now in place and in service, she has clean water that won’t harm her new home and clean water that won’t harm her body.
One of our commercial accounts reached out to us to see if we could do an annual preventative maintenance on their water softener and also to deliver out some solar salt. Garrett our tech, found that the unit was not metering water. He was able to fix the meter and set the unit to regen. He cleaned the rest of the unit up and tested the water before and after the water treatment equipment to be sure all was working properly before leaving.
The homeowners here are maintenance plan customers with us. The homeowners called us to see if we could help them with the salt alarm that was going off on their unit. The homeowners always make sure they have salt in their brine tank so something else was triggering this alarm. Our service manager Randy was able to stop out at the home within a few days to look their equipment over. He just needed to change out 2 small parts to get that alarm to stop beeping. Since the homeowners are on the maintenance plan, there was no invoice to them because they were covered under the maintenance plan.
The homeowners had a loss of water pressure in the home and their iron filter was making odd noises. Garrett, our tech, went over to the home to inspect what was going on. He checked over various areas in the home for water pressure. Garrett was able to determine that the iron filter was clogged and changed a few parts to get the unit to function properly again. He then tested the water before he left the home and everything looked great and was working fine.
These homeowners reached out to us with concerns about hard water in their home. We were able to schedule a consultation for them with one of our project coordinators right away! At the appointment, we tested the water and quoted them out some equipment that would tackle their water issues. The customers decided to go with an EVRS-1044 softener. A little over a week later, we sent out our technician, Garrett, to install the unit. The homeowners now have soft water in their home and were very happy with the installation process.
We had a customer who bought a brand-new house in the city of Kaukauna. The homeowner was very surprised to find how bad the water was and what it was doing to the brand-new dishwasher and other appliances. The homeowner knew he had to do something and reached out to us. We sent out a project coordinator to test the water and see what we could do. After some tests, we found extremely hard water and recommended a water softener. The homeowner went with the EVR water softener; this is our premium system with all sorts of features like WIFI and salt monitoring. The customer also took advantage of our maintenance plan, we contact the customer once a year to do a yearly service and delver salt right into the basement. We also change the warranty into LIFEtime parts and labor. The customer is very happy they can use the water in the home with no worries!
We had an existing customer who had a old ro system in his home when he moved in. After the customer attempted to find/replace the filters and had no luck, he gave us a call to see if we could find them or replace the system. We sent out a project coordinator to check out the system and see what we could do. The system was 35+ years old and filters have been discontinued for this system. We recommend replacing it with a Clear Flo RO; the customer liked the new system and agreed to have it installed. After a clean install the customer was happy he could drink his water again!
Mechanical equipment always has maintenance that’s recommended to extend the life of the system. A water softener is no different. Some systems outlast what we expect, the system in this house needed parts that are no longer manufactured, so it needed replacing. Now, with a new system and an annual maintenance plan and lifetime warranty this customer will have a working system for as long as they live at that address. They will also go through less salt and have better coverage and better water quality for years to come.
A customer we inherited from a company no longer in business called asking if we could help them with their old water softener and iron filter on a rental property they own. The tenants were complaining of occasional discolored water and orange staining, white crusty building up and cloudy glassware.
After looking over existing equipment and discussing options the landlord decided replacing the equipment was better than attempting to fix what was there. An iron filter to solve the discoloration and a softener to handle the white scale was installed.
Not all wells are created equal, a home in Seymour was experiencing sulfur odor. Problem being a sulfur filter needs a certain flow rate the well needs to produce to clean properly which this well was unfortunately unable to produce. However, iron filter work on the same process and use similar chemistry to function, and smaller iron filter do not need the higher flow rates that sulfur filters do. It is not a perfect solution to their odor problem, but it will greatly increase water quality and fits within the parameters that the well is capable of producing. After discussing the situation with the customer, a Project Coordinator was able to give the homeowner some options and they decided an EVFE-1054 would be installed. Now the water rarely has sulfur odor, and they don’t have to worry about what they smell like after just getting out of the shower.
We had a customer reach out because they have been having iron issues for years. They had tried many different things but had no success. They where told to give us a call to see if we could figure out what was going on. We sent out a project coordinator to test the water and see what we could do. After some testing of the water we found ferric iron in the water, ferric iron will not be removed by a water softener so that why they been having issues for years. We recommend a iron filter that will remove ferric iron for the water. After a quick and clean install the customer is happy to not have iron issues any more!
Water conditions rarely change, but when they do residents tend not to notice until something happens to their existing system to make them feel that something needs to be done. This home had an all-in-one water conditioning system. The water conditions must have changed because they then had an iron filter put in to help split the work. Now that the water conditioner is at the end of its life, it doesn’t need to be replaced by an all-in-one because of the iron filter. A more salt efficient and water efficient resin water softener was put in its place.
Our usual office business hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. However, Clean Water Center works with customers to find a time that works for the customer for their free in-home consultation. Our Project Coordinators can schedule earlier or later in the day to make sure that everyone who wants to be present during the consultation can be present. Both homeowners of this home work a regular 9-5 so our Project Coordinator made sure to accommodate and was able to schedule with them a 5:30pm appointment.
Michael had just renovated his basement and bought new appliances. He was told by a family member that even though he was on treated city water this new appliances may work better and for longer if he had a water softener. Not wanting to have to replace his brand new appliances prematurely called Clean Water Center for a consultation on what was best for him and his home.
The ES-1044 was the decision he and the Project Coordinator from CWC came to, an economical decision that would protect his water using appliances from the hard water left behind from the municipal water treatment facility.
Now Michael can rest assured that he won't need to be calling a laundry machine repair man any time soon.
At the Clean Water Center, we know that water treatment solutions can be a serious investment. To create more options for homeowners CWC had a rental program where they install their equipment for a monthly fee. Some customers like the convenience of not having to worry about cost of repair, some like the affordability of a small monthly fee. This customer in Hortonville will take advantage of all their benefits to a rental water softener. After inheriting water treatment equipment from the previous owner, and potentially moving in the near future they felt renting was a better deal than buying.
Customer just purchased house, and was noticing hard water build up and iron stains throughout the house, and decided that they were in need of a water softener. They called the Clean Water Center as they had found us through Home Advisor.
A Project Coordinator went out to their new home to test the water and assess the area to place the softener. After a game plan was discussed with the customer to soften the house, and move the outside lines, so they would not be running through the softener, the customer decided to have us install an EVR-1044 Water Softener and EVFE iron filter.
Now the couple can have quality water to help protect their new home.
