Local Water Testing, Treatments, and Softeners in Neenah, WI

We had a local school reach out too us because they have a new hydroponics lab that they needed some better water for the growing stations. We came out to the lab to check out the set up and test up the water. The water had a very high TDS (total dissolved solids) that was affecting how the fertilizers worked. We recommended a RO system to reduce the TDS in the water, they agreed and got something set up. With the water demand needed we had to use a large storage tank to give them enough water for peak usage.   

Sally had an old water softener in her basement which the previous owner had installed.  It looked to her as if the previous owner had painted over the treatment equipment when the painted the walls in the basement and wasn’t sure if it was working currently.  Clean Water Center was called out to the house and after examining the age of the equipment and the damage done to the internals of the value due to improper protection while they were painting it was decided by the homeowner to replace the softener. Sally Purchased an EVR-1044U, one of our most salt efficient systems, and she purchased a maintenance plan along with it so a technician with CWC will be out every year to check on things and make sure everything is working as it should. It also gives her a lifetime warranty on her system if anything were to go wrong or need fixing or adjusting.

Customer called with concerns on their drinking water. They described a bit of an odor, and with a new baby in the home, wanted to make sure that the water they were using was the best it could be. A Project Coordinator discussed connecting reverse osmosis to the fridge and adding a faucet to their kitchen sink. This faucet could be used for cleaning produce before cooking, filling pots for pasta or soup, or getting water when you don't want it from the refrigerator dispenser.

There is only one way to know exactly what is in water, and that is to take everything out and put exactly what is desired back in.

For this customer, they had particularly picky plants and wanted to make sure they were doing their best to take care of their home and their plants.

On city water the first thing to treat is the chlorine, its a commonly used sanitizer and, municipalities use it to keep water safe from the distribution center to the home of their residents.

Once in the home, chlorine is a skin irritant and individuals can be very sensitive to it, it also does not smell very nice when in higher concentrations.

The best way to treat chlorine is with activated carbon, the first half of our whole home treatment in our EVRC-1054U. The second half is our high performance resin, which treats the calcium and magnesium that makes up water hardness. City water works can only do so much and nearly all water in East Wisconsin had hard water if not very hard. Water hardness causes build up in pipes, white residue on water fixtures, and white staining of glass. Treating hardness make soaps work magnitudes more effectively, lengthens the life of water using alliances like laundry machines and dishwashers, keeps water heaters running as efficient as possible.

The next step in this customer's water treatment is Reverse Osmosis. This step takes our up to 98% of everything that is in the water through a series of 4 filters. We connected this system to an additional faucet at their sink for drinking, cooking, rinsing or washing food, and making ice. It was also connected to a spout in their attached greenhouse, which they filled jugs with and then added specific plant food before watering.

The customers now know more precisely what is in the water they put on, and in themselves, as well as what is going on their plants.

As long as they keep up with maintenance, filter changes, and carbon replacements, their water will stay the best it can be.

Aging equipment is a problem all homeowners deal with. As the years go by our appliances and equipment get closer and closer to failing. Water treatment equipment is very important to monitor because as a softener or iron filter starts to fail unnecessary damage is done to other water using appliances, fixtures, plumbing and faucets. This customer started to notice iron staining in their sinks and toilets and wanted their iron filter checked out.

Once a Project Coordinator was on site they concluded that indeed the iron filter had seen its last days. The problem with iron filters is when they start to fail a water softener will attempt to pick up the slack. Once an iron filter is replaced the water softener may relax, and release some of the iron built up inside from when it was trying to pull double duty. Thankfully in this case the customer caught it early and no permanent damage was done to the softener. 

Thinking of the future, the customer also joined our service plan so we can regularly check up on both the softener and iron filter to make sure they operate correctly. We also deliver salt and haul it inside while we are there annually to save the backs of the homeowner, as well as saving them time and money.

James and his family moved into a home and quickly noticed a rotten egg smell coming from the water.

They called the Clean Water Center and we dispatched a Project Coordinator to access the water conditions. The home had a Chlorination/dichlorination system installed, but it was older and no longer worked.

After our staff tested the water and took some photos a discussion was had explaining that we do not always need such a large system to treat sulfur like we used to. 

The decision was made to rent an sulfur filter as well as a point-of-use reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink, to not only improve the water quality throughout the home but also to improve the taste of the drinking and cooking water.

A couple had recently purchased a new home in Neenah and had hard water staining starting to show in some of their appliances, they were also not fond of the taste of the water and had concerns about the quality of the drinking water.

A Project Coordinator met with them in the home and tested the water aesthetics, finding 8gpg of hardness and Chlorine at .5ppm. The homeowner decided on an EVRC-1054, this will treat the hardness and chlorine for all the inside water fixtures and appliances. This will protect their plumbing and their skin from the harshness of calcium and chlorine. The EVRC is very water and salt efficient, in their case a 2 person household is estimated to only use 7 or 8 bags of salt per year.

In addition they also purchased a ClearFlo Reverse Osmosis system to further filter drinking water and treat the water going into the refrigerator for cleaner, better quality water and ice.

The homeowners also opted for the Maintenance Plan so that they do not have to worry about regular maintenance on the equipment, and they have a lifetime warranty of both the softener and the RO.

This customer had just purchased the house and had Clean Water Testing do health and safety testing on his well. The new homeowner wanted to make sure that the water would be good, as he was refinishing the house, and putting in all new appliances and fixtures. 

A Project Coordinator met him at his house and tested the aesthetics of the water. After finding 34gpg of hardness, and 3 ppm of Iron, it was good thing that he had called for equipment. The new homeowner decided to go with the EVR-1054, and EVFE-1354 to help with the hardness and iron in his house. He also elected to go on the Maintenance plan so that we can help him take care of it, and he gets the lifetime warranty on his new equipment. We installed it, and when he is ready to move in, he will no longer need to worry about the water ruining his new investment. 

Mr. R called us to see if we could stop out to his home to see why his water had a metallic taste.  He initially noticed it just on the hot water so he flushed his water heater.  After that, the taste was in both the hot and cold.  We were able to get Kyle our service tech out there to investigate the problem.  He found that the homeowners iron filter was leaking water to the drain and had very little air in the unit.  He changed out a few parts and re-ran the unit through a cycle.  All was working well after the cycle.  

One of our local schools in the area requested a salt delivery for their Water-Right water softener.  We are happy to provide them with this service.  Shae our tech, was able to make the delivery.  

The homeowners discovered chunks of well casing in their water.  Garrett our service technician stopped over at the home to see how to remedy this problem.  He suggested a Twist II Clean filter to help catch the debris before it went through to faucets and fixtures. 

Mr. and Mrs. H. were having problems with their salt alarm going off numerous times.  We found that the unit kept plugging up from large chunks of well casing.  We suggested installing a Twist II Clean to help with the problems of their salt alarm going off. 

Mr. and Mrs D. reached out to us because their unit was spraying all over the place.  We were able to send our technician Kyle, out to the home immediately to service the equipment.  He was able to change a few parts and ran the unit through a cycle to make sure everything was working properly.  

This customer of ours has been using the EV2 softener for 8 years. When we installed there was a high amount of hardness and iron. Over the years the water conditions changed and made it much harder for the unit to keep up. With the hardness going up and the iron dropping we found it would be best to rebed with resin. Resin can handle a very high amount of hardness and very little iron. When we tested back in 2011 the iron was too high for resin. Now with having more hardness and less iron the resin was the best solution for the water conditions.

Mr. S had are service team come take a look at his iron filter because he did not think it was working any more. Are tech diagnosed the iron filter and found there was no water pressure when in service. Are tech recommended to have it repalced. We had are sales team go over options with Mr. S and found him a good replacement, the EVFE-1248. Mr. S was very happy we could get a repalcement in a very efficient time frame. 

Ms. K had her annual maintenance done on her water softener and iron filter. We also took a sample of water to have are lab test for arsenic. 

Ms. S had us deliver 14 bags of salt to her basement. We also tested water to insure the softener was working as it should. Ms. S is always happy we can bring her salt right to her basement fro her! 

The homeowner here was experiencing sediment breakthrough in their sinks.  The high flow rate with their whirlpool tub was drawing the sediment to come through their lines.  The homeowners are currently looking at different options with us to fix this issue. 

The homeowners called to see if we could come out to inspect their water softener.  The unit was not drawing any water out the brine tank.  Layke, our tech, found some of the parts clogged up and he replaced them.  He regened the unit and took water tests before and after the water treatment equipment to be sure everyhing was running properly.  

The homeowner called to see if we could come out to their home to fix a hose that was cracked in half.  We sent our technician Kyle out to the home to re-run fresh new tubing to the proper places.  He also changed the filters for the system at this time to and tested the water to make sure all the water treatment equipment was properly working.   

The homeowner called us to see if we could help with pressure problems.  They had their local plumber out to change out a pressure tank but they were still having pressure problems.  

We were able to go to the home to check out the system.  Randy was able to test the water and replaced some parts.  Everything looks good now.  

This homeowner called and was having issues with their water treatment equipment.  They were getting a smell on both the hot and cold water.  Garrett our tech, went out to the home to investigate the situation.  He was able to fix up their iron filter and change their RO filters.  After everything was fixed up, he tested the water to make sure all the water treatment equipment was properly working before he left.

Mrs. H called us with her concerns of a foul smell in the water.  We sent our technician Garrett out to the home to diagnose the situation.  While he was there he found some parts that were dripping water and replaced them.  He also tested the water and noticed that the iron filter was not filtering out all of the iron.  He informed the customer of information on different types of water tests that she could do to try to figure out what the smell was and also it may be time for her 19 year old iron unit may need to be replaced.  

Mr. and Mrs. L called us to set up an appointment because they didn't feel their softener was working properly.  The water softener that they do have is 7 years old.  Garrett, our tech, was able to diagnose that the unit had some faulty parts.  He was able to fix them and made sure the settings were set correctly.  He also tested the water before and after the water treatment to be sure the equipment was doing its job. 

Susan C called in a requested service on her water softener, in-line filter, and also wanted some solar salt for her softener. We sent Garrett one of our service technicians to assist. Garrett changed out an in-line filter, filled the brine tank with salt, and left the remaining salt next to the brine tank. Garrett also reviewed the settings on the water softener and tested the water before and after her softener. A few maintenance items were performed on the softener but all appears to be working great!

Mary P. called in and requested that we deliver salt to her home in Neenah. Our field technician Shae added salt to the brine tank, and stacked the remainder of the salt next to the brine tank in the basement. Shae also tested the water before and after the water softener, and checked the settings on the softener. Everything looked to be working perfectly.

Jeff H recently moved into his new home and signed up for a service plan for is treatment equipment. Our service technician Layke got his treatment equipment up and running, and per Jeff’s request, we delivered half of his salt into the basement next to the treatment equipment, and the other half into the garage. Jeff is good to go for the rest of the year, see your next year Jeff!

Shelly S contacted us to schedule a time for us to change her reverse osmosis drinking water filter, and to do regular maintenance on her water softener and iron filter. We scheduled a time for Layke our service technician to visit her home. Layke inspected the equipment and tested the water before and after all of the treatment equipment, changed the reverse osmosis filters, and performed the regular maintenance on the equipment. Everything is working great and Shelly is enjoying her water.

Shelly S. contacted us to change their reverse osmosis drinking water system filters. Our service technician Layke went to the their home and changed the filters on the reverse osmosis system, and tested the water before and after the water treatment equipment.

Cathy A. contacted us to deliver some red out salt. Our service technician Shae filled her brine tank with salt, and put some additional bags of salt next to the brine tank. Shae also tested the water before and after the treatment equipment. Everything was working great!

Yan H. contacted us as they were in need of additional salt for their water softener. Our service technician Shae delivered solar salt to the home, filled the brine tank with salt, and stacked additional bags of salt next to the brine tank. Like we do on all salt deliveries, Shae tested the water before and after the treatment equipment to ensure proper operation of the equipment.

We reached out to Kathy M as she was due for her annual service visit. We scheduled a date and time for our service technician Garrett to visit her home. Garrett delivered her year’s supply of solar salt, changed her reverse osmosis drinking water filters, and tested her water before and after her treatment equipment. Kathy is all set for the year!

Richard A. contacted us to deliver salt for his water softener and also requested that we check his reverse osmosis filters. Garrett our field technician delivered 15 bags of solar salt, tested his water before and after the water softener to ensure it was operation properly, and tested water before and after his reverse osmosis system. Both the water softener and the reverse osmosis drinking water system were working great.

The homeowners experienced an overflow of their brine tank.  We were able to get there first thing the next morning to be able to repair what was needed in a timely fashion.  We tested the water and everything was working properly!

Mr. & Mrs. M were experiencing hardness issues on their fixtures.  Our service tech found the brine tank very low in salt.  We were able to get some salt to the home immediately and cleaned up the unit to make sure everything was working great again.  We also explained the benefits of the service plan option with the homeowners.  They were happy with what we offered them and agreed to the service plan.

Homeowner requested a salt delivery for his home.  We delivered 10 bags of our Red Out salt right to his basement. 

Owners were in need of some salt.  Twice a year we bring out salt for his softener because he has limited basement space.  Each time we visit, we test the water to make sure their water softener is working properly.
