According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, about 66% of Wisconsin residents get their drinking water from groundwater, and the other 33% source it from Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, or Lake Winnebago. The local government reports that about 4 in 10 people get their drinking water from private wells.

Customer just inherited a home in Lake Geneva, WI. When they went to clean out the home, they found that the Water Softener was not working at all and had to unplug it as it get regenerating and not softening the water. The current water softener was an older Kenmore water softener from a big box store, and was able to be serviced.
A Project Coordinator went out to the home to test the water and assess the basement for placement of new equipment. The hardness tested at 27 gpg. The customer did not live in the area and the home was going to be used as a vacation home. After going over the units available, the customer really liked the options with the vacation mode on them, so they could put the unit in vacation mode when they were not around. He also liked the option to go on a maintenance plan for us to help take care of the unit and deliver out salt when they are in town using the home. The family also intends to do a lot of renovations around the house, including updating kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, so they can now know that the water will not ruin any of the new water using equipment that they might put in.
We installed the new softener a few days later before they had to leave to go back home, and will be in contact next year for the maintenance plan renewal.
Customer was moving across the country to Lake Geneva, and purchased a newly built home. She quickly noticed how hard the water was and decided to call. A Project Coordinator went out to the home to test the water and look at the plumbing and placement for the install.
The City of Lake Geneva has extremely hard water at 25 gpg. The home was brand new, so the fridge, dishwasher and all the faucets and fixtures were new, but already starting to show signs of hard water build up. The customer wanted to make sure that it all stayed as new as possible, so she was in a hurry to have something installed to take care of it right away. The homeowner and the Project Coordinator found the perfect spot for the softener near the water meter and furnace, so they could keep all of the utilities in one spot in case she decided to finish the basement at a later date.
We were able to install a new water softener, and deliver 8 bags of salt 4 days later.
