Sulfur Smell in New Berlin, WI
Challenge
This customer called the Clean Water Center as they have a sulfur smell coming from the water, especially through their drinking system that was at the kitchen sink.
Solution
A Project Coordinator went out to the home to test the water and assess the equipment. They found a large sulfur smell from kitchen cold as well as the Aquasana drinking system under the sink. After speaking with both homeowners, they also mentioned iron staining around the home as well.
The Project Coordinator found 1 ppm of iron in the water from pressure tank, and .8ppm still coming through after the water softener, which meant that they had Ferric Iron sneaking past it. The Project Coordinator recommended an Iron filter to take care of the iron staining and sulfur smell. Also recommended a new Water Softener, as they may find more Iron staining if the softener was not replaced.
The customer decided to rent an EVFE-1054 Iron filter first to see if he liked the water better afterward, and he may possibly get a new softener eventually if the old one goes out or purges more iron into the home.
