Nitrates in Oconomowoc, WI Water
Challenge
This customer called in with hard water stains all over in the kitchen. They had gone through multiple coffee makers, and calcium was building up on kitchen faucet. They had a water softener, but did not think it was working. She was also concerned about the water as they had a small child, and she wanted to make sure it was safe. She was sick of buying bottled water.
Solution
A Project Coordinator went out to the customer's home and tested the water. Even though the softener was older, it did seem to be working but when going over the plumbing in the home, they found that the kitchen cold was not running through the softener. From there, the Project Coordinator sent out a sample of the water to the Clean Water Testing lab for health and safety analysis.
After it was found that they did have a 6 ppb of nitrates in the water, which is under the EPA standards, the customer decided that they did not want to be drinking that, so they had us put in a UltroWater Reverse Osmosis, since it is certified for Nitrates. While we were there, we also moved her kitchen cold line to a softened line.
The customer can be confident that they are drinking healthy water now, as well as keep their kitchen clear of hard water stains and build up.
