Hard Water and Chlorine in Hobart
Challenge
The homeowner bought a new construction and did not have any water treatment equipment in place.
They chose to call Clean Water Center to see what they would do to get better quality water in their home.
Solution
Our team met with the homeowner and tested the water coming into the home to determined a personalized treatment system for that home. All municipalities in our service area add chlorine to the water for transportation of water to the home, they also all have some level of hardness. The real challenge for chlorinated water is that it can damage the resin in softeners. Chlorine is also a skin irritant and some people are sensitive to the smell. After talking with our Project Coordinator the homeowner decided a EVRC-1054U installed by us and our optional Maintenance Plan was their best option. This model is a variant on our most salt and water efficient while also treating the chlorine in the same system and have the smallest footprint on their water bill. On our Maintenance Plan there is a limited lifetime warranty for the system, and salt delivered to the home with no delivery cost. With their water usage the system is estimated to go through the low amount of 5-7 bags of salt per year. Now the customer has peace of mind that her softener and home are protected from chlorine and hardness.
