Smelly Water in Fredonia, WI
Challenge
This customer called in as he was finding that his water started getting a very bad smell to it. He had stated that he had just replaced the Anode rod in the water heater and thought it was coming from the well. He called the Clean Water Center to assess the situation. A Project Coordinator went out to the house, and found that from the pressure tank there was a clear rotten egg smell coming from it, as well as a decent amount of hardness and 2 ppm of iron. They had a softener in place already that was older, but seemed to still be working.
Solution
After finding that the Iron was at a higher level than the sulfur, the Project Coordinator recommended putting in an EVFE-1054 Iron Filter, as it would help with both the Iron and the Sulfur in the water. The customer agreed and had us install the EVFE-1054. The customer is much happier now, being able to take a shower and use water with out the horrible rotten egg smell from the sulfur.
