Solution for Hard Water, Iron, and Arsenic in Slinger, WI
Challenge
The customers just recently moved back to Wisconsin from Arizona after they inherited property out in Slinger, WI. The property is large and surrounded by farm land. The home had water treatment equipment already, but it was pretty old and outdated, so the customers called the Clean Water Center to have us come out and assess their water and current equipment.
A Project Coordinator went to the house, took the tests for the aesthetic of the water. After speaking with the customers, they decided to also have us take a Health and Safety test back to the lab, as they did not know the last time that had been done. The project coordinator found the water to be extremely hard at 25 gpg, with a good amount of iron as well as a trace amount of sulfur. They discussed what was currently in the house and how the kitchen sink cold line, was not currently hooked up to the softener. The Project Coordinator explained the way the house was previously hooked up and what she would recommend going forward.
Solution
After they received the results from the health and safety tests, they found a very small amount of Arsenic in the water, but no other concerns. The new homeowners decided to go with the Project Coordinators recommendations to get a new EVRS-1044 water softener installed, and switch the kitchen cold to a softened line. They also had an EVFE-1252 Iron Filter installed to help combat the 5.5 ppm of iron and the trace amount of sulfur in the water. They also had the installer run one of the outside lines through the iron filter, so they could wash their car and use that line without staining anything outside with iron.
The last thing they decided to get installed was the UltroWater Reverse Osmosis because it is certified for Arsenic. Even though they did not have a lot of Arsenic in the water, they wanted piece of mind that they could get as much out as possible.
The new homeowners can now be happy with the quality of water in their house, and what they are consuming.
